| wow, been a while since iv updated, so i guess im due. hmmm, whats happened in the past few weeks. prom was awesome. had a really great time. kinda sucked waking up at 6 the next day to run a meet in the rain, but it ended up turning out great. millburn relays champions: 110HH and 400IH , school record in both events, meet record in both events. sexy. also took a bronze in the 4x4, which was hot. out of 19ish schools we placed 5th overall, not bad. dont remember much from the next week, so it probably wasnt all that eventful. friday morning we left for penn relays, with palmer bird beckert and dinuzo running the 4x100. that was a fun race, and they took 5th in their heat. not bad. hung out and watched some sick races, seeing one college dmr team anchored by a guy who pulled off a 3:55 mile. thats like my half mile time. wow. for lunch we had some amazing jamacian food from some of the street venders. really good stuff. so after a while most of the people went home, with me, palmer, bird, gallo, and dubois staying the night for 4x4 the next day. what an awesome night. started out by checking into the hotel. within 5 mins of getting in our rooms me and gallo were racing up and down the hallway on luggage carts and palmer and bird were taking pictures of eachother jumping on and off the beds. sok must have thought we were crazy. so by 8 we decide were hungry so we go to the olive garden across the street. 45 min wait meant that we had time to play football in the parking lot. now thats a good way to piss lots of people off, but we had a good time so its all good. finally got to our table after and hour and ate some yummy food. highlight of the night was when the waitress brought over a note for gallo from the waitress with the phone number of the hostess who liked him. wow, picking up girls in philly. not bad. after we get back to the hotel he calls her, and apparently theyre getting together next week (?!) wow. sadly the pool was closed after we got back, and after palmer got locked out of his room we finally got some sleep. woke up at 630, showered, got ready, and were all set to leave at 715 when we realize palmer and bird arent up yet. 710 was a good time to find that out. so after some really quick showers we finally get to the meet. pouring rain and 50 degrees. great running weather. we ran prety early on, so we warmed up, streatched, and got down to be seeded. had to stand around for 15 mins in the rain which didnt make us too happy. all of the races before us were going really slow, so we realized the day was gonna kinda suck. our race started off w bird leading off, comming across the 400 in about 4th with a 53 second lap. gallo takes the next leg, comming in with a pack of about 6 runners with a 56 second quarter. i take the baton, take 2 quick strides to get ahead and one of the second leg runners cuts right in front of me, stopping me short. slammed into my arm, so now i have a fun bruise, but i think he was worse since i was the second of about three people who ran into him. thats what happens when you pull outside instead of in. good job. by the time i recovered i was in about 6th, so i passed two runners but lost one of the spots on the final streatch. pulled off a 55, which i wasnt too happy about but bad races happen. i got the baton to palmer in 5th and he catches up to 4th with a 53 second lap to finish the race. totaled 339, which is a really crappy time for us but 4th in a heat of 16 at penn relays isnt really anything to complain about. hopefully next time the weather will be nicer to us. we left after the race since we didnt feel like sitting in rain all day and went to a diner to eat breakfast/lunch. i think we all slept the whole car ride home, and i took another nap once i got home. so tonight i went out to dinner w family and then decided to go out after w pogash. didnt really know where we were going, but since kelly couldnt do anythign we ended up at jacks house w rudy, so watched some movie and just chilled. always fun to do. so now im home, still wired from a few sodas i had before, but i really need some sleep. car show tomorrow. always a good time. ok, well thats my past 2 weeks. ill update some other time soon maybe. | | |
| not a bad day on the track. county champions in 400 meter hurdle relay, 2nd in the 4x110 hurdles, and 3rd for 4x4. not bad for a broken leg. about that, going back for xrays on monday, which means the doctor is gonna tell me not to run. o well, doctors cant always have their ways. so for the meet today my times were kinda slow, but its all about placing, and we were able to pull off a 1st 2nd and 3rd. palmer and gallo were on all three relays with me. got the school record in 400h, at 2:59, which is awesome that we were under 3:00. as a team we did really good as well, scoring in nearly all running events. scores wernt finalized when we left, but were hopeing for a top 3rd in the county as a team. not too sure about girls score, but they were scoring points across the board as well. so im not sure whats up with tonight, but ill probably end up somewhere. tomorrow is lots of homework. hate when that happens. o well, ill live | | |
| so we won against BR today. it was a good meet for me and the team as a whole. my first duel meet since iv been back and helped the team get sweeps in both hurdles against BR. my times kinda sucked, running in second heat for 400H and misstepping in the 110s, but still managed two third places in 400H and a second in the 110s. ran thru some drills after those races and decided to scratch in the 200m since the meet was allready decided by then and it wouldnt have mattered if i ran. kinda sore leg after the meet though, and ice only made my leg really cold. i really hafta work on this whole getting better thing. so now im really tired, my leg is really cold, and my neck/shoulders/face hurts from sunburn. wow, sucks to be me. so not sure about everything else in my life, but eh, itll all work out. so im seriously thinking about being sick tomorrow, so if im gone, dont miss me. adios. | | |
| lots of stuff over the past few days. starting with thursday... finally back to running. its been about 3 weeks since i actually ran, and all that biking kinda sucks. ran a workout on the field, blacked out for a few seconds after a few sets of 200m. too fast with too little recovery, but o well, makes me faster :) friday was my day to relearn how to hurdle. not too bad. one day to learn how to run again, another to learn how to hurdle again, and then a meet the third day. how did i end up with this sport? so friday night went and saw cabaret, good stuff. woke up early for conferences the next day. started off the day with 400 hurdles, ran a horrible race, but we placed 3rd, so it wasnt too bad overall. came back with a much better 110H, leading off the race with 16.4. came over hte line in the lead but after 3 other runners on my team we finised second, much better than we had expected, so ill take it. just a few mins after 4x110h i ran in the 4x2, taking a short sprint instead of stepping up to 4x4. ran a 24.1 in the 200, with the other runners getting a 24.0, 24.1 and 24.3, so we were prety consistent. missed placing by 1 second, but it happens. for having a broken leg, i cant complain about a second place and a third. maybe next week at countys it will be two firsts, if were lucky. so as a whole the team scored 28 points, enough to place 6th in the conference. 14 points from hurdles, 8 from jav, 4 from pole vault, and one from both 4x4 and 4x8. not a bad day. but of course the day doesnt end with the meet. after we got home got together w billy and pogash for pizza, hung out for about an hour or so at the restaurant, reading billys texts with kelly. think we pissed her off? maybe? o well, its all in good fun. then walked to my house and pete came over. hung out for a while, and had to convince billys mom that my parents were home. that was fun, especially when pogash answered the phone as my dad saying that he would be home watching us all night. luckily petes and pogashs parents were ok with the fact that no one else would be home. so after that whole mess we walked down to the lake and played beach soccer and dodgeball. one of my failed throws ended up in the lake, which caused us to spend a half hour trying to get it out. good times. then we came back home and ordered some pizza. apparently the pizza guys werent to happy about delivering so late, but o well, we gave them a good tip. pizza, playin pool and darts, then trampoline. good stuff. pogash had to leave after while though, some family party the next day or something so he couldnt spend the night. i was prety suprised that my parents were letting ppl stay over when they werent home. ill take it though. so at around midnight called up kelly and talked with her for a while. kinda forget the majority of that conversation, but it was probably fun. billy had to go home later too, his mom wasnt too happy i dont think. it happens. so only pete ended up staying the night, and we played super smash brothers for a while then crashed. woke up and played basketball for a while and then he left. cleaned up any messes we left right before parents came home. not a bad weekend. now im stuck doing mad homework which sucks. o well, that happens too. so had a fun saturday, and now sundays gonna suck. ok, well better go start all this hw, talk to everyone later. | | |
| not bad past few days. build a fun physics roller coaster w alex, good stuff. then biked more. lots of biking, too much. had to bring my bike to school for practice today. wow. ended up not biking but rather helping hurdlers with last min stuff before tomorrows meet. its sad when i cant run :( o well, i get to do stats at the finish line. wahoo! so planning on comming back to running thursday in prep for conferences saturday. hopeing for a high place in 400 hurdles. itll be a fun race, cant wait. sat night should be fun too. all this track stuff almost makes it seem worth it going to school and all.... nah. o well, ill survive. | | |
